You won’t be on the tools — this role focuses on engineering oversight, quality assurance, and managing a specialist subcontractor responsible for delivering the drainage works. It’s perfect for a Site Engineer who enjoys taking ownership, ensuring compliance, and driving high standards across a complex civils package.

This project offers long-term stability, progression, and exposure to a nationally significant programme with a multi-year pipeline.

Your Role

As the Site Engineer for this drainage package, you will:

  • Oversee the delivery of a specialist drainage subcontractor

  • Ensure setting out is accurate and aligned with programme & design requirements

  • Review, check, and approve the subcontractor’s setting out and as-built information

  • Manage daily quality control, ITPs, inspections, and compliance documentation

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Design Team, and Senior Engineer

  • Ensure drainage installations meet specification—including manholes, chambers, deep drainage, and outfalls

  • Support progress tracking, recording, and reporting

  • Uphold safety, quality, and engineering excellence across the package

This is a role with genuine responsibility, ideal for engineers looking to step toward Senior Engineer or Section Engineer positions.

What You Need

  • Experience as a Site Engineer within infrastructure or highways civils

  • Strong drainage background (foul, surface water, deep drainage, manholes, chambers)

  • Experience working alongside or overseeing subcontractors

  • Good understanding of QA processes and ITP management

  • Confident using GPS, TS, and digital reporting tools

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Right to work in the UK

Not essential:

  • RC frame, building, or structures experience (this is civils-focused)

Not suitable for:

  • Engineers without civils or drainage experience
